Happy Anniversary to Me!
Last weekend, Tom and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary by heading down to the beach at Capitola.
Capitola is a picturesque little village by the ocean
with scenic views of the beach and cove.
We stayed at a lovely Bed
& Breakfast.
Our room was fashioned after an English country garden. We took the opportunity to relax and recharge.
As it happened, the town was having its annual Begonia Festival.
Weekend events included a sand castle contest. Here are a few of my favorites:
Tom chills (no pun intended) on the beach.
Sonny and Yvette joined us and we enjoyed getting the chance to spend some time with them away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Sonny and Tom got us a primo spot for the Begonia Festival floating parade on the deck of Margaritaville. We gorged ourselves with Mexican food and margaritas while watching the parade (which was sponsored by McDonald's - hence the Ronald in a canoe!).
Here are some of the begonias before they blossomed into floats.
Pelicans flying in formation (and navigating boats??) were a common sight for us
as well as surfers,
gorgeous flowers,
and kitty cats striking elegant poses.
I count myself lucky to be married to someone as wonderful (and unique!) as Tom, and look forward to many more happy anniversaries to come.

Looks like a great time was had by all. Congrats on the anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who takes pictures of random cats when I'm on vacation! :)
