More Spirit

I heard that the Fairmont Hotel has a life sized gingerbread house, so I dragged Tom up Nob Hill to take a look. It was pretty neat and smelled delicious. It was made with 7,500 home-made gingerbread bricks, 1,500 pounds of royal icing, and 650 pounds of candy.

The hotel was decked out in Christmas decorations galore.

On the way home, we stopped at the Westin to see San Francisco's largest sugar castle. Not as impressive as the life sized gingerbread house, but still nice and festive.

And speaking of candy structures, here are a few shots of the one at the Four Seasons in Austin.

Merry Christmas!

  1. I love those Austin ones from the Four Seasons but I never remember seeing that much snow in Austin-- EVER! :)
