City Day
Yesterday, we decided to enjoy the nice sunny weather in the city before the rain came. We took a walk down Embarcadero to Justin Herman Plaza where we checked out the Vaillancourt Fountain. I guess this is somebody's idea of art, but it reminds me of something from the set of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
Then there were the three Eggheads:
We hopped on the historic F-line trolley
and headed down to Fisherman's Wharf to one of my favorite seafood restaurants, Scoma's. It is crab season, and there is nothing better (to me) than fresh crab right out of the bay.
I enjoyed some fresh crab with drawn butter
while Tom had a fresh .... BLT. (what?!?)
At the end of the day, we headed over the bridge to Alameda for dinner at Uncle Sonny's house.
We had an absolutely delicious meal of breaded pork chops, creamy mashed potatoes, and fresh spinach salad.
Sonny and his pork chops:
Sonny was expecting to feed five people, but made 10 pork chops. Wonder what will become of all those extra chops. It's a mystery ....

That fountain was right by the hotel where we stayed last fall. Sonny's skinny!
