Come Visit!

Earlier this year, we got a good start to 2011 when our good friends, Scooter and Dee, came up to visit us from San Diego. We hit the ground running with a stroll through China Town.

We stopped for dinner at one of our favorite North Beach restaurants, Cafe Zoetrope. It is located in my favorite building, the Sentinel Building, which houses Francis Ford Coppola's studio, American Zoetrope. Coppola also owns the restaurant.

The next day, we headed to Sonoma for some wine tasting. The first stop was one of Scooter's favorites, Acacia.

There was a $10 tasting fee, which was waived if you bought a bottle. They had their Pinot on sale for $10, so we bought the Pinot and got free wine, right?? At least that's how we looked at it. And the Pinot was really great!

The next stop was Buena Vista Winery. Founded in 1857, it is one of California's oldest wineries.

(Scooter is quite macho.)

We were greeted by The Lads at the entrance.



We topped off the day with a yummy indoor picnic.

The weekend ended too soon and Scooter and Dee jetted back to SD. We hope they will come back soon!
