Nice Weather Alert!: Mount Tamalpais Edition

We had nice weather this past weekend - mid-60's in the city! So Tom and I decided to go out and experience some nature. We headed out through the Waldo Tunnel

for a leisurely walk in Mount Tamalpais State Park.

When we arrived, we immediately saw this warning.

Yikes! So we put away our bobcat food and trudged onward through the wetlands

down the Tennessee Valley Trail.

Tom looks really excited about the hike.

Along the trail, we observed some beautiful trees and wildflowers

including some Texas bluebonnets.

We also saw some majestic hawks

and some wild, gobbling turkeys.

As we walked along the trail, the ocean came into view.

We finally made it down to the gorgeous Tennessee Beach.

There were interesting rocks, sculpted by the sea,

a sail boat,

some kayakers,

a raven eating an apple (that Tom gave him), then flying away,

and a wild animal feeding itself in its natural habitat ...

After a delicious snack on the beach, we returned to the trail.

About halfway back, my hiking boot blew out. And they were only 17 years old!

Lucky for me, I had my trusty hair band to hold the shoe together for the remainder of the hike.

On the way to the car, we spotted some movement in the brush, as a shadow slowly emerged.

And then, the wild beast appeared!

He ambled toward the horse stables, which erupted with whinnying.

He finally wandered off into the woods to terrorize some field mice.

After all that excitement, we returned to a beautiful, clear day in the city.
