Wine and Food Affair

For Tom's birthday, we headed up to the Russian River for the annual Wine and Food Affair. It is a two-day event with wine tasting accompanied by delicious food. Most of the wineries in the Russian River Valley participate, so it was a great opportunity for us to enjoy our favorite wineries and discover some new ones. We were lucky to get to see the leaves changing color on the vines - from green to gold to red.

One of our first stops was Sunce. They had pumpkins,

lasagna,

barrel tasting,

kitty cats,

bocce ball,

and a blind tasting game at which I failed miserably, but Tom won a couple of coupons for savings on wine.

We found a new (to us) winery called Hook & Ladder that had great Zins.

They were serving yummy pulled pork sandwiches.

It was quite cold, so I enjoyed warming up next to the heater.

We stayed in a beautiful B&B

where we had a mysterious visitor to our room,

who made himself quite at home.

I wanted to take him home, but he seemed pretty happy and spoiled where he was.

Tom explored the expansive croquet court at Sonoma-Cutrer.

We hung out in the barrel room at Mueller.

took in the beautiful view at Copian,

the delicious Pinot at Fopiano,

and attempted to view the salmon swimming upstream at Trentadu, but they did not make an appearance this year.

What a fun-filled weekend!
