Parrots Galore

Tom and I did a little shopping in the Embarcadero Shops the other day. As we were walking around, I heard the familiar squawking of the Telegraph Hill parrots. They often fly down into the Embarcadero area and roost in the trees of a park. I walked over into the park to take a look.

I noticed that the birds began to congregate in a particular area of the park. They were flying around, low to the ground at a frenzied pace. I finally realized that the source of the spectacle was two kids feeding apples to the parrots. I don't think I would dare to do this, since the parrots were biting them on the arms and ears, but it was a pretty neat thing to witness.

A true San Francisco moment.
